Calling Young Nature Enthusiasts!
Thanks to a generous benefactor, The Sustainability Centre in East Meon offers incredible opportunities for young people to gain hands-on experience in traditional crafts and outdoor skills.

At The Sustainability Centre, we’ve seen first-hand how transformative hands-on learning can be. For years, we’ve worked with young people who find it hard to thrive in traditional educational settings, helping them unlock their potential, discover new skills and turn their lives around.
Now, we’re taking this mission to the next level with our Young Natural Ambassadors programme where young people have the opportunity to achieve their John Muir Conserver Award. This incredible opportunity offers one young person the chance to participate in 18 personalized one-on-one sessions, designed to meet their unique needs, aspirations and interests.
This is more than just learning a new craft or skill—it's about empowerment, growth and creating pathways for a brighter future. Whether it’s bushcraft, green woodworking, conservation, or personal development, every session is tailored to inspire confidence, resilience and a sense of purpose.
We believe in the power of nature to transform lives. The Young Natural Ambassadors Award is proof that with the right support and opportunities, any young person can overcome challenges and achieve something remarkable.
As part of our Young Natural Ambassadors Award, you'll explore skills like:
Bushcraft
Nature Conservation
Green Woodworking
Botany
Coppicing
Woodland Management

Celebrating Flo’s Amazing Achievement!
Big congratulations to our incredible Young Natural Ambassador, Flo, who earned her John Muir Conserver Award last year! Over 18 one-on-one sessions with our expert tutors, Flo explored sustainability and conservation through hands-on activities in our stunning 55-acre woodland. From fire lighting and woodwork to shelter building, she honed her bushcraft skills and made a real impact.
Flo has taken her newfound knowledge and turned it into action by sharing it with other outdoor organisations she volunteers with. Through her passion and dedication, she’s spreading the message of sustainability far and wide, inspiring others to embrace eco-friendly practices and connect with the natural world.
