Amidst the beautiful, ever-changing landscapes of The Sustainability Centre, our courses team has been embracing the power of the Sit Spot—a simple yet profound way to slow down and tune into nature’s rhythms.
A Sit Spot is a personal retreat, a place in nature where you feel comfortable, grounded and at peace. It doesn’t have to be far from home or hidden away—just somewhere you can return to regularly. Even 20 minutes in this special place can create space to pause, breathe and reconnect in a world that moves too fast.
By taking time to observe the seasons shift, we are reminded that change is natural, inevitable and beautiful. Just as winter’s cold and darkness give way to the light and warmth of spring, the challenges we face will also pass. Nature teaches us resilience, renewal and the importance of balance.
To deepen this connection, The Sustainability Centre offers Nature-Led Meditation Evening Courses on serene summer evenings. Whether you’re new to meditation or looking to enhance your practice, these sessions—guided by expert Jonathon Huet—provide a supportive, calming space to help you relax, recharge and find stillness within.
Give yourself permission to slow down. Step outside, find your Sit Spot, and rediscover the peace that nature so freely offers.
Wellness Wednesdays after Work

Nature Led Meditation Evening - WED - 30 APR | 4 JUN | 2 JUL
A series of guided meditation workshops, each with an individual flavour. Jonathon will guide you gently through meditations and natural connection practices designed to restore your connection with nature and to bring healing to yourself and the land to which we all belong.
"A really wonderful evening connecting with nature and learning more about our own indigenous traditions too. The guided meditations were fabulous! I'd highly recommend this workshop for anyone looking for a couple of hours escape - I arrived exhausted and left energised and rejuvenated!"

Foraging, Fire and Folklore - WED - 21 MAY | 25 JUN | 3 SEPT
A series of seasonal events, each one a special experience of wild food foraging, Celtic fire and folklore. Bushcraft and Celtic folklore specialist, Jonathon Huet, will take you on a guided walk to forage for wild food and impart his knowledge on different native trees in each season.
"Awe inspiring! I don't know of anyone else who can hold my attention for so long... What a superb evening. Thank you Jonathon Huet."

Soundbath Evening - WED -16 JUL
Join Jez Smith and our friendly gathering for a deep-relaxation sound session in beautiful woodlands within the South Downs National Park. Listen to the calming sounds of a variety of gongs, singing bowls and soft percussion for a therapeutic, sonic experience. Give yourself a well-deserved boost by bathing in sounds designed to slow the mind, help you find peace and gently restore.
'Jez has an incredible ability to articulate the importance of being present during the session to allow the sounds to work their healing magic. His guidance made the experience fully immersive, allowing me to truly connect with the vibrations and find a deep sense of relaxation and healing.'
